“Swiftie” pARTy w/Pastels

To create the backdrop for this pARTy there are several layers.
First, I use a local company; Up and Away Balloon Garlands, that creates the base balloon garland and comes in and installs it. We work together to make sure the colors match the theme of the pARTy.

After the install, we go to work dressing it up. For this garland I started with an iridescent table cloth in the very back layer. This makes it so the fringe isn’t completely see through. Then I did a layer of wavy silver fringe, with white fringe on top. I added the neon “Happy Birthday” sign and yet another layer of fringe on top of the sign. That front layer of fringe is a transparent purple fringe. The last part of the backdrop part was 3 strands of disco ball garland.

When I’m satisfied with the backdrop, I dress up the balloons, sometimes I add flowers, for this pARTy, I used drink stirrers with disco balls on top and a few mylar balloons. You have to be careful with the disco balls, I have used them in the past and they will puncture the balloons causing a slow leak. Since the disco balls are made w/tiny glass mirrors, the edges can be a little sharp, so I use the sticks of the stirrers and shove them between balloons to hold them in place hovering slightly away from the balloons. The last thing I did was add the mylar balloons, these ones were just pressure fit in between the balloons (except for the one on the top corner, I just used scotch tape and stuck that up there) All the affiliate links are provided below:

One last note: The balloons are usually done a couple days in advance and will often oxidize. If a guest mentions wanting their balloons to have a matte finish, you don’t have to treat the balloons, but I haven’t had that request. I like the balloons to be glossy, so I treat them with HiShine

I created this “Happy Birthday” banner specifically for the “Swiftie” pARTies, it’s a play on the friendship bracelets she made popular. I used 4” styrofoam discs, created stencils for the letters w/my cricut, and painted the letters on with acrylic paint. The “beads” are plastic balls made for kids ball pits, I used a long upholstery needle and silver cord to string the beads and styrofoam together. I ran into a little problem with the styrofoam not wanting to hang straight, so we hot glued the small disco balls to the bottom of the styrofoam discs for weight.
